    One of our key aims is to reduce waste and the size of our carbon footprint. Last year we recycled 80.3% of our waste from our distribution centre with a target of 83% in 2022. In 2019, we streamlined our deliveries, using 61,000 less litres of diesel vs previous years. We continue to work with our national fleet partner to reduce their mileage and emissions. Our stores continue to move towards operating digitally including customer facing screens and app-based task management for colleagues. We are 100% zero carbon with electricity generated wind, solar and hydro. All our energy is renewable, and our lighting is LED.

    Our exclusive own brand ranges, The Perfume Edit and ME have been created using 100% recyclable packaging. We are pleased to have launched two ranges that have completely recyclable packaging, use only vegan ingredients, are cruelty free and genderless. Since the launch the ranges have gone from strength to strength, gaining cut through in the media with titles including Sunday Express, Daily Mirror, New and Woman and Home. We were thrilled to also announce The Perfume Edit as an award winner at the Pure Beauty Awards, and the Lime & Basil scent won the Citrus category at OK magazines Real Beauty Awards.

    We were the first retailer to introduce the Thierry Mugler refillable bottle and continue to work with our suppliers to offer customers sustainable solutions. We strive to lead the way and be an early adopter for brands introducing sustainable options and refills, with last year seeing fragrance powerhouse Lancôme launch the refillable Idôle which has been a hit with our customers.

    Our packaging for online deliveries is made from 80% post-consumer waste and is 100% recyclable. We now provide our stores with paper bags only, saving seven million plastic bags from entering the UK market each year. We also no longer produce plastic Rewards Club cards, asking you to instead use our digital card on The Perfume Shop app. In 2019, we reduced the amount of printed paper by 66% compared to previous years...that's 3.8 tonnes, almost the weight of an elephant! We remain committed on reducing this further and avoiding unnecessary print in favour of digital.
