We're Back - We've introduced new steps to keep you safe you shop

Dear perfume lover

Our doors are reopening!

Following Government guidance, we’re excited to let you know that the first of our stores will reopen from Monday 15th June 2020.

Absence has definitely made the heart grow fonder, but we can’t rush - every action we’ve taken has been with your care and safety in mind. So as much as we’ve been waiting to share our The Perfume Shop sparkle, we’re starting with the stores that can do so safely.

These are the steps we’ve taken to keep you safe as you shop:

We’ve introduced additional cleaning measures
We invite you to use our Hand Care Stations to sanitise your hands whilst in store. We’ve removed testers from shelves so that they can be handled by one team member and cleaned after every use – simply ask our experts for a spritz. Additionally, we’ve introduced enhanced hygiene practises and given teams extra cleaning time. New Sterilisation Units will be used to give testers and other equipment a deep clean every day.

Protecting our people
Safety comes first. PPE will be provided for all teams and stores will close over lunch to give our people a break. We’ll ensure our teams continue to feel protected at work and only return when they’re happy to do so. Any Perfume People who have been advised to stay at home because of their health, will be fully supported until they are able to rejoin the team.

Our people have been fully trained to adapt to the new changes and are looking forward to welcoming you back into store.

We take social distancing seriously
We’ve introduced two-metre distancing floor markers and a one in, one out system for customers. No more than three Perfume People will be in store at any time so we can manage the distancing measures and protect everyone. We’re currently accepting cards only, with no limit on Apple Pay and contactless card payments up to £45.

Thank you for bearing with us whilst we took a perfume pause to reassess the safety measures in our warehouse.
We know the unbelievable impact COVID-19 is having and this remains an incredibly difficult time for everyone. We want to reassure you that your safety, and that of our people, is still at the heart of every decision we make. Therefore, we’ve taken some additional steps to bring a full service one step closer.

We are promoting Social Distancing
We have limited the number of warehouse colleagues on site, by only bringing in essential staff with staggered shift and break times. We have also created one-way routes in and out of the warehouse, as well as safe-distance walkways with floor graphics marking 2-metre distance points. We’ve worked closely with our couriers to bring in a ‘touch-free' delivery and signing process for your items.

We have provided all our perfume people with dedicated trollies to pack deliveries, as well as socially distanced workstations. Our team has been fully trained to ensure they are adapting to the new changes.

We will ensure our teams continue to feel safe at work and only come back when they’re happy to do so. We have asked all colleagues with dependencies or health concerns to stay at home, in line with government guidelines.

Whilst we aim to get your orders to you as quickly as possible, to protect our people your deliveries may take a little longer to arrive. At times we may need to limit the number of orders being placed and have re-launched with a limited number of standard services online. Please bear with us at this time.

It’s been a tough few months and you deserve a treat, so to say thank you for bearing with us while we took a perfume pause, we’re giving you half price delivery on all orders.

We hope you, your family, friends and community are well and keeping healthy. So that our warehouse team can stay at home we have taken the decision to temporarily pause taking online orders.

If you’ve ordered with us before 4.30pm on the 31st March don’t worry, we’ll ensure all orders are fulfilled before we pause our deliveries. You can read about how we’ve extended our returns policy too here.

From the day we launched over 25 years ago our business has been built on our talented and passionate perfume people and today that’s as important as ever. At The Perfume Shop we are all keeping positive and looking to a more fragrant future; we should all remember this difficult time will come to an end (soon we hope!).

At the Perfume Shop our customers have always been the heartbeat of our business, and each of our colleagues gives a huge amount of energy and passion to offer a personalised experience. It's this personal touch that makes us so proud.

The current Coronavirus pandemic has touched us all, and we recognise it is likely that it may go on for some time. As the situation unfolds, and following the UK government's latest advice, we made the difficult decision to temporarily close our stores on Sunday, 22nd March. Our online store remains open with a free standard delivery service available to our customers.

Caring for our colleagues and customers remains our primary focus, so we’ve introduced these strict safety measures for our Warehouse Team:

  • We've staggered our shift start/finish times, with a reduced working week.
  • We will continue to assess colleague’s dependency and/or health concerns and ask them to stay at home where appropriate, for these cases we will continue to support colleagues with full pay.
  • We've enforced strict social distancing, to ensure a minimum 2-metre gap between colleagues.
  • We have allocated additional space for breaks and meal-times, with a rota introduced to minimise contact.
  • Our colleagues understand the importance of regular hand washing and we have also provided hand sanitiser and disinfectant cleaning wipes to the entire team.
  • We have implemented a ‘touch free' delivery and signing process with our couriers.

We know this is a difficult time for you all, so we would love to stay connected with you. Our blog & social media channels are still there to provide a little hub of brightness during these uncertain times.
