At this time of year, many of us are on the hunt for a new fragrance to mark the change in seasons. Plus, few things are guaranteed to lift the spirits than sniffing out a new scent. The Perfume Shop has plenty of new arrivals that really raise the game – trust us, these have 'signature scent' written all over them.
Angel Nova by Mugler
Almost 30 years ago, Thierry Mugler launched the classic scent Angel, a rich, take-no-prisoners ‘gourmande’ (a type of vanilla-based scent for those with a sweet tooth). Angel Nova is a zesty update on the classic formulation – the original candyfloss notes are combined with bright raspberry and lychee accords, together with pretty heart notes of damask rose. What’s more, the formula features a unique ‘upcycling’ method via a double extraction process of the rose petals, which allows them to obtain two different scents from the same flower.
Good Girl Supreme by Carolina Herrera
Vetiver is a classic note for autumn – a rich, earthy ingredient that will cut through the cold. It stars in Carolina Herrera’s latest scent, a seductive take on the original Good Girl fragrance, combined with rich Egyptian jasmine and intense heart notes of tuberose and tonka bean. Plus the iconic stiletto-shaped bottle gets a glittery makeover, guaranteed to dazzle on any dressing table.
Boss Alive by Hugo Boss
A cheery concoction, infused with notes of plum and vanilla, this is an energetic update to the original Boss scent and the perfect pick-me-up scent as the colder weather closes in. Apply it in the morning to add an extra spring in your step or keep it by your desk to spritz on around 4pm to lift you out of your afternoon slump! If jetting off to the sunny tropics doesn’t seem like a possibility any time soon, this escapist perfume is probably the next best thing.
Perfect by Marc Jacobs
If your self-esteem is in need of a boost, this suitably named fragrance is just the tonic. Named after the tattoo of the word ‘perfect’ on Marc Jacobs’ wrist, its happy notes of daffodil and rhubarb are guaranteed to lift anyone out of the doldrums (and embrace their perfect ‘imperfections’). Once it’s had time to settle on the skin, its warm heart notes of almond milk and cashmere are calming and comforting.
My Way by Armani
If you’re keen to go green, Armani’s latest offering ticks a lot of eco-friendly boxes. My Way features a recyclable and refillable bottle, made with post-consumer recycled materials, meaning less waste to end up in a landfill. And the perfume itself is equally impressive, with fresh notes of bergamot and orange blossom underscored with rich, romantic tuberose.
R.E.M by Ariana Grande
Outer space was the inspiration for Ms. Grande’s dreamy new scent, described as “an intergalactic dream of femininity and power”. Named after the ‘REM’ phase in our sleep (where our dreams are most vivid) it features delectable top notes of salted caramel and fig, with a heart of soft lavender essence (which is prized for improving our sleep quality). It’s also enhanced with sparkling pear blossom, for a bouquet that dazzles like a supernova.
