Party season is here, which means you’ll want to smell great from drinks to dancefloor. Here are our hacks to keep your fragrance smelling INCREDIBLE all night long…
1. LEARN TO LOVE LAYERING
Layering is all about using body products that match or complement your perfume, so when you come to spray your scent, its notes are enhanced. Before a night out, we suggest using the shower gel and body lotion (or you could even go as far as a hair or body mist) to match your favourite perfume. You’ll get all the compliments flooding in, we promise.
EDITOR’S PICK: ‘Before a BNO, I always use Guerlain Mon Guerlain Shower Gel, Body Lotion and, of course, the bold, feminine scent, with its blend of lavender, vanilla and sandalwood.’
2. TAKE A MINI SCENT ALONG
This is a hack you’ll never go back on. Carry a 30ml scent in your clutch, so you can top up during your night out. That way you’ll smell divine from start to finish. A travel-size scent is so handy that you’ll want it for your weekday commute, too.
EDITOR’S PICK: ‘It’s hard to feel fresh when you’re dancing or mingling in a packed bar. That’s why I always carry Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pure 30ml with me at a party. It smells of jasmine and orange blossom, so it’s great for floral fans. Another option is a Travalo, which is a nifty gadget that holds your favourite scent in. I always rely on mine wherever I am.’
SPRAY WHERE IT COUNTS
Your wrists and neck aren’t the only places to spray your perfume. Your pressure points are areas where circulation is high and heat builds up – and spraying fragrance here maximises the scent. Spray on your elbows, knees, hairline and even your belly button (if you’re feeling adventurous) and your fragrance will last all night long, we promise.
EDITOR’S PICK: ‘I was out the other night and sprayed my neck, wrists and elbows with the new Hugo Boss The Scent For Her Private Accord. I could smell the mandarin and cocoa blend all night long – and it gave me the boost I needed.’
