Do you remember packing your P.E kit when you were younger and always ensuring you’d packed your trusty body mist? Well, we have news for you! Body mists are no longer a thing of times gone by and they have recently had a bit of a makeover to suit all ages. With best-selling brands and celebrities alike releasing body mist versions of some of their well loved scents, we’re all over the lighter, brighter fragrances. Here’s everything you need to know…
What is a body mist?
It’s pretty simple really. A body mist is a lighter, softer and often less concentrated version of a scent – when compared to a fragrance such as an eau de parfum or eau de toilette.
A body is mist has a shorter longevity span of roughly 2-3 hours, so it requires regular tops ups if you want to enjoy the scent for as long as possible.
Body mists are usually available in larger sizes though, so this gives you more of a reason to keep on spraying!
4 reasons to use a body mist
1. They’re perfect for layering
If you want to maximise on the scent you are wearing for the day, then you need to get into the layering game. Using products such as a body mist at the same time as a body lotion or scented shower gel will create a longer-lasting scent that you won’t need to keep topping up.
2. Their scents are lighter and softer
If you don’t want to wear a strong, powerful scent then a body mist is a great alternative. They make a more subtle first impressions in a situation such as an interview. Plus, they’re great for topping up in a public space where you don’t want to invade other people’s personal bubbles with an overpowering spray!
3. They have more than one use
You can use body mists to spruce up other areas of your life too! If you’ve got an outfit that’s got that stuck-in-the-wardrobe-for-too-long scent, then leave it hanging on a rail and give it a little spritz with your mist (keep the spray at arm’s length to avoid any damage to your garments). Or maybe you have guests coming over to your home and you want to set the mood. Gently mist the area or cushions/throws to add a little luxurious touch.
4. They’re kind on your bank balance
Lots of our favourite designer brands also offer their signature perfume scents in a body mist variation. And because of less oils/concentration factor, they are priced lower than their EDP partners. So, if you absolutely love a cult designer scent but want it on a budget then using the body mist is a great way to get the scent you want for less.
