Words: Lauren Carbran
You can’t really beat The Met Gala when it comes to fashion inspo. This year was the 71st annual ball and we were obsessed with the theme – Camp: Notes on Fashion, inspired by an essay written in 1964 by Susan Sontag. The night was filled with dramatic outfit changes, totally extra, OTT details and a plethora of glamorous gowns. Here are the red carpet looks that raised the game for us…
LADY GAGA: PAPARAZZI PINK
Lady Gaga may have had four outfit changes at The Met Gala 2019, but nothing could prepare us for THAT standout bright pink cape dress by Branden Maxwell, which made the paparazzi go wild. Unapologetically OTT, Gaga completed the look with a giant bow in her hair and 25-foot train. She entered the red carpet event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in style too, accompanied by five dancers (as you do). Our overall thoughts? It’s big, brave and beyond great.
HARRY STYLES: KING OF THE MET GALA
Can we just take a moment to talk about Harry Styles at The Met Gala 2019? Ok, so Harry swooned us all with his black lace Gucci top, thick centre bow and sheer, lace sleeves. The best part? The singer got his ears pierced before the big event. And we’re hearting his new look. Harry, can you dress like this more often please? What a statement.
KIM KARDASHIAN WEST: DRIPPING IN MUGLER
To celebrate The Met Gala 2019, Kim Kardashian West wore a nude-coloured, beaded latex Thierry Mugler dress, which was inspired by a woman walking out of the sea, dripping with water (hence the beaded water drops dangling off the dress). We also loved how she sported the wet hair look, as if she’d just emerged from the ocean. And with her see-through sandals, she gave us beach vibes all over.

VERSACE EROS FLAME FOR HIM
Turn up the heat with this fiery fragrance, which blends zesty notes of orange and lemon, spicy ingredients like pepper and tonka bean and, of course, a base of creamy vanilla. We’re super impressed by this newbie on the block, which is set to be big news all through summer…
