This spring, it’s all about new launches, floral fragrances and smelling fresh and fab. We caught up with one of our buyers, Miranda Lang, to find out exactly what you need to know to get ready for spring…
Lesson 1: Go shopping!
‘Spend some time in store with our perfume experts, trying out the latest spring perfumes and finding out which fragrance family and notes you love,’ says Miranda. Or if you’re shopping online, try our Fragrance Finder, which recommends a new perfume for you to try, based on ones you already love.
Lesson 2: Layer your Fragrance
As the weather warms up, the secret to long-lasting fragrance is layering. ‘This is when you build up layers of scent on your skin with shower gels, body lotions, mists or deodorants, to make your perfume last longer,’ explains Miranda. We recommend matching your body products to the fragrance of your perfumes. You can do this by buying a scent that has a body lotion to match.
Lesson 3: Know the spring trends
This spring it’s all about floral fragrances with extracts of rose. ‘The fragrance trend this spring is wearing pretty eau de toilette perfumes, which are more subtle scents,’ says Miranda. ‘We’ve already seen on-trend launches of Elie Saab Rose Couture, Dolce & Gabbana Rosa Excelsa and Armani Si Rose Signature, so keep your eyes peeled for more to come this spring!’
Lesson 4: Switch your perfume radar on
Look out for Dior Poison Girl, which launches at the end of March. The spring smell is a combo of damask rose, bitter orange, vanilla and tonka bean. We just know you’ll be addicted! ‘I’ve already cleared a space for it on my perfume shelf, and I’m counting down the days,’ Miranda says.
