Rose gold is officially trending worldwide (and has been for a while now, FYI). I’ll admit it - I’m a sucker for rose-gold Pinterest boards and I’ve even contemplated having a rose-gold themed wedding. You get the picture.
So you can imagine how psyched I was when the new Jimmy Choo Rose Gold Limited Edition launched, which is the latest scent inspired by the rose-gold trend. And even though rose-gold perfumes are nothing new (I had a thing for BVLGARI Rose Goldea, a blend of Turkish rose and sandalwood, and Tom Ford Orchid Soleil, chestnut cream and vanilla, once), Jimmy Choo Rose Gold is giving me a hot flush…
Sure, you can dye your hair rose gold like Hilary Duff in 2016 (I could never pull that off) or rock the eyeshadow look à la Bella Hadid earlier this year, but have you even lived if you haven’t smelt a rose-gold perfume? I think not.
With new fragrances being launched every day, my perfume standards are through the roof. We’ve seen genius perfumers like Quentin Bisch mix notes of hazelnut cream cocoa and red berries for the sweet, gourmand smell that is Mugler Angel Muse. And, heck, have you tried Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom, which mixes liquid air accord with pomegranate? The fragrance industry continues to amaze me.
But there’s something about this perfume that is as special as a piece of rose-gold jewellery or a designer handbag. For us girls, it hits the heart. Warning: you may even get a bit emotional when you smell how gorgeous Jimmy Choo Rose Gold is.
As soon as I spritz it, the hints of candied orange and tiger orchid really come through. Then after a few seconds, the sweet toffee smell oozes out. And to top it off, the bold base notes of sandalwood and Indonesian patchouli are warm and comforting. The final result? Glamorous. It’s seductive and sophisticated without being OTT - just what you need from morning mocha to rooftop drinks.
As for the bottle – where do I even start? Jimmy Choo Rose Gold is one of those perfume bottles that you’ll drool over and Instagram the hell out of. The light bounces off it everywhere you go, and it will look gorgeous on your dressing table, too. Plus, the packaging is glittery. How perfect.
Since I met my new rose gold BFFE, it’s been coming with me to work, meetings, shoots and black-tie shindigs. I even feel a little empty if I leave it at home by accident. But the main thing for me is that this eau de parfum lasts on my skin all day long, so I don’t have to regularly top it up.
But, girls, you don’t have to love rose gold to wear this INCRED scent (although it helps). Just take it from me that it’s a little piece of heaven…
