Warehouse Manager

We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join our team based in Dunstable.

Currently we are seeking an individual to manage and co-ordinate the Warehouseing operation within the Dunstable Warehouse site, achieving agreed KPI’s and operating to Company standards within budget.

We are looking for people who are passionate about working in Retail, dedicated to driving our business forward and above all, excited about their future within The Perfume Shop.

Key duties include:

Deliver continuous improvement of KPI’s and warehouse processes. Logistics KPI’s include performance against budget, receiving turnaround, fulfillment on picking, pick productivity and error rates, shrinkage and stock take results.
Conduct monthly reporting on warehouse performance and present to the Logistics Manager and Head of Supply Chain.
Manage the Dunstable Warehouse staff budget, challenging performance and looking for year on year improvement.
Lead, manage and motivate the Dunstable Warehouse team through communication, goal setting and reinforcement of culture
Manage the recruitment, induction, training, development and motivation of employees, both permanent and seasonal temporaries and carry out regular performance appraisals. This includes 4 direct reports – Warehouse Supervisors and Administrators.
Maintain good communication between the warehouses and with other Head Office departments.
Contribute to logistics strategy, for example involvement in projects, their implementation and outcom.e
Attend regular review meetings with wider warehouse team and contribute information and ideas for improvement.
Maintain high standards of Health and Safety at all times in line with Company Policy ensuring compliance with current legislation and promote Health and Safety awareness within team.
Provide management cover for Warehouse Manager Ecommerce Fulfillment in absence.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Previous experience within a retail environment, either Head Office or Store is highly desirable
Previous Warehouse Management experience having lead and managed large teams within a blue chip or retail environment is essential
Good MS Office skills, particularly in Excel is essential
Implementation of new Warehouse Management systems and / or the set up of new warehouses is ideal
Previous project and budget management experience would be a distinct advantage

Person Specification

This role would ideally suit an individual who is passionate about ensuring the efficiency and smooth running of their warehouse operation and who possesses a high level of commercial awareness. They will have a personable approach with the ability to communicate at all levels and effectively lead and motivate their team. The ability to plan, prioritise and implement projects autonomously is a must for this role.
